8 DIA DE INTERCAMBIO

We have just come back home after visiting Ironbrigde, a very well-known town because it was the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. In Ironbrigde you can find the first bridge in the world to be built using iron. It happened in 1779 and the engineer was Telford. We have also visited 'Enginuity', an interactive design and technology centre where students are allowed to play with replica of inventions. Later, we have visited 'Blists Hills', an open air recreation of sights, shops, sounds and smells of a Victorian Shropshire town at the end of the 19th century.
To conclude our trip to Ironbridge we have been to the China museum where we have discovered the history and techniques of china making. On the bus to school Spanish students have started to sing traditional Spanish songs until driving me crazy...now to relax and get over we are cooking dinner and a traditional Australian dessert called 'Pavlova dessert cakes'. Here you are the recipe. Apart from mastering my English I am improving my cooking skills.
Pavlova
Ingredients:
- 6 eggs (separate the yolks from the whites).
- 12 oz of sugar (2 oz per egg) 1 oz = 28'35 gr.
- 1 teaspoon of vinegar.

- dried or fresh fruit: strawberries, raspberries, kiwi...
- 300 ml double cream (cream for dessert).
Elaboration:
- beat the yolks until they are stiff.
- add sugar (1 oz at a time) and continue beating (repeat the action).
- add the vinegar and the corn flower and mix them softly (folding).
- use a third of the misture to make a circle on 'oven paper' about 20 cm acroos and a wall of mixture around the edge of the circle.
- bake it in the oven at 130 degrees for 1 hour.
- turn off the oven and leave it to cold.
- decorate it with cream and fresh of dried fruits.

  4. Yes, Cintya, you are right. One of the aims of the exchange project is to relate the different subjects existing in the school curriculum to achieve overlapping of subjects (interdisciplinariedad in Spanish). So, I think we are getting it. Don't you think so?
